About Us
We’re Steve and Johanna Pillinger, and we work with Wycliffe Bible Translators in the United Kingdom. Wycliffe is a Christian charity that aims to make the Bible available in every language in the world, so that people can read it in their own heart-language.

Steve manages the Wycliffe UK Typesetting Services Department, preparing New Testaments and Bibles for publication in languages around the world whose speakers have never had God’s Word in printed form before. This is not as simple as it sounds! For a Cook’s tour, see Steve’s Work.

Johanna is a partnership development consultant, helping Wycliffe members find the necessary funding to carry out their God-given work. She also has a ministry of prayer and encouragement with a number of Christian leaders in Africa. For more details, see Johanna’s page.
Before moving to Britain in 1997, we were members of the Rendille Bible translation project in Kenya, where we lived for many years. [More to come: Watch this space!]

We have two children, now young adults:
Stephen (23) has completed a degree in Biblical Studies and Philosophy at Sheffield University, and is now working in a call centre while preparing for full-time Christian service;
Jennifer (21) will soon be starting her third year studying Anthropology at Goldsmiths College, University of London. She hopes to become involved in development work overseas, particularly in conflict-resolution.
